Miele PM 1318

Miele PM 1318 is currently the smallest flatwork ironer of Miele's PM-Series. The series of PM show in comparison to the HM-Series both a better quality and a reduction in energy consumption despite an increased throughput. It is faster and more powerful than previous generations. Its roller length of 175cm and diameter of 30cm is able to iron 75kg/h maximum. Please set up your ironer at the top of the page to adapt this mangle to your individual needs. If your settings are not available, Miele does not produce this configuration. We recommend Miele PM 1318 for laundry services and grand hotels with a higher demand. 

Design

Characteristics

• First-class heating plate “HPC”. The “High Performance And Capacity” heating plate ensures a very good efficiency, as a result of the aluminum hating plate and its very large laundry contact angle. aluminum as a very good heat-conductor is able to balance fluctuations in temperature more efficiency than other materials. Thanks to the large contact angle, the contact path of laundry passing through the trough is longer. A specially treated surface and high uniform contact pressure result in incomparably finished textiles.  
• The patented finger safeguard ensures safety at work.
• The new and patented Easy Fold honeycomb-sculptured outfeed table simplifies folding laundry considerably. Perforations at the points where hexagons meet induce rising thermal currents (Thermodynamic Cool Down), cooling laundry as soon as it lands on the oitfeed table. The gentle flow of air through the outfeed table stabilises the finish on laundry.

Optional

• return-feed module: This module transports laundry back to the front, so one person will be able to operate the ironer on his own. Furthermore the ironing machine can be setup against the wall. 
• Comfortable feed belts simplifies a crease-free laundry-feed. Laundry adheres to the feed belts and will be transported to to the roller - completely creasefree. It safes time and increases the comfort.
• The elastopress spring padding guarantees an uniform contact pressure and very long life in comparison to steel wool padding. Rollers padded with steel wool has to be renewed regularly in order to maintain a uniform contact pressure.

Heating: gas oder electricity?

Heating via electricity is more efficient than gas, whereas the operating costs of gas are lower. A gas-heated heating plate reacts slower, because it is heated indirectly via a gas burner. The heating via electricity occurs directly via heating rods which are directly below the heating plate in order to balance fluctuations in temperature immediately.  

Generally: If you already have a gas connection, we recommend a gas-powered mangle, because of lower operating costs. If you do not have a gas connection, we recommend the electric operated mangle, because the expenses for the installation will not amortize, especially because the electric operated mangle manages a higher capacity.  

Roller padding: steel wool or elastopress spring?

We always recommend this model with an elastopress spring padding, because it is more durable and it shows a constant contact pressure in the long run. Steel wool wears off and rusts over the years. Accordingly it must be renewed and padded again resepectively.

Exception: Our refurbished rotary ironers are padded with stainless steel wool, which is more wear-resistant. Unfortunately Miele does not offer this padding. 

Feed-in table: aluminum table or feed belts?

If you would like to do yourself or your employee a favor, we recommend you to buy feed belts. It simplifies a crease-free input of laundry and saves time due to annoying corrections. Large clothes stick on the feed belts to feed them easily and more comfortably. Small clothes can be feed side by side automatically. It can be stopped via the foot pedal „Flex-Control“. Experts are normally able to manage it without feed belts, but it has a lot of advantages. 

What is the return-feed module for?

The return-feed module will be add on above the roller, which transports laundry back to the front. It is convenient for business with insufficient space for a big outfeed table or if only one person manage the ironer on his own. Small clothes can easily be put in and taken out at the front. This mudule can be folded if it is not needed. This equipment is only available for electric-powered ironers.
